Specifically, thanks to the official changelog, we discovered that it was finally possible to edit the media caption. However, the changelog indicated that it would take a few weeks before users could experience this feature. Finally, after installing the latest updates of WhatsApp for iOS from the App Store and the TestFlight app, and WhatsApp for Android from the Google Play Store, we can confirm that WhatsApp is now widely rolling out this feature to all users starting today!
As you can see in this screenshot, the option allowing the editing of image captions is finally available. Just tap and hold a recent message with a caption to discover if the feature is already enabled for your WhatsApp account. In the past, this feature was exclusively limited to text messages. However, thanks to the latest updates, the feature has finally been extended to media messages as well. With the new feature, it’s now possible to edit captions for videos, GIFs, and documents, as long as it’s done within 15 minutes of sending the message.
