WhatsApp has just submitted a new stable update for iOS, available on the App Store: the build number is 23.17.81.
What’s new in this update? WhatsApp is widely rolling out a feature to create a new group chat while forwarding messages!
FORWARD TO A NEW GROUP
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.3 update, we announced a new shortcut to create groups while forwarding messages. With this shortcut, WhatsApp aims to provide users with a new feature to help them save time to allow them to create groups when they see a particular message that inspires them to connect with specific contacts in a single place. Recently, the WhatsApp for iOS 23.17.81 update was released on the App Store. While the official changelog doesn’t include information regarding which features this version offers, as WhatsApp didn’t update the changelog from the previous build, we discovered that WhatsApp is widely rolling out a shortcut to quickly create a new group chat while forwarding messages!
The official changelog still mentions that a feature to send higher resolution photos is available, as mentioned in the article about the WhatsApp for iOS 23.17.71 update. In addition, even though it’s not mentioned in the official changelog on the App Store, we can also confirm that a feature to quickly create new group chats is available after installing this update. If you want to discover if this feature is enabled for your account, you just need to forward a message to see if the new shortcut to create a new group chat is visible within the forwarding screen. It’s important to note that this feature is also available in the beta version of the app.
If you don’t have this feature, note that some accounts may receive it over the coming weeks, although it has not been indicated in the official changelog. Please stay ahead by regularly updating WhatsApp from the App Store and the TestFlight app to get this feature in the future in case you don’t have it after installing this update.
