Facebook is making it easier for content creators to earn money on the platform by merging various monetization options into one central program.
Facebook’s new project
Known as the Facebook Content Monetization Beta, this new project will allow creators to benefit from in-stream ads, Reel ads and performance bonuses without having to meet specific requirements for each. Thanks to this system, monetization is made easier for creators who want to make money from text posts, long-form videos, Reels and even photos.
“Facebook is giving creators more options and uniting revenue streams,” said Meta in a statement. The move comes after years of offering creators different ways to make money through various monetization programs, but the options had become overwhelming. By consolidating these programs, Facebook aims to offer a smoother experience for creators.
Eligibility for the program
Currently, the Facebook Content Monetization Beta is invite-only. Meta has already invited one million creators, with plans to onboard more in the coming months. Creators who want to join can express their interest by joining the waitlist. Open enrollment is expected to begin in 2025.

Facebook has also introduced a new Insights tab in the Professional Dashboard and Meta Business Suite, giving creators an easy way to track their earnings across all formats. “The goal is to make it simpler for creators to manage their earnings,” a Meta representative explained.
Competition with YouTube
Though Facebook’s creator payouts have been substantial — over $2 billion this year alone — it still trails behind YouTube, which has paid $70 billion to creators over the past three years. However, Facebook is hoping that this streamlined monetization hub will attract more creators, particularly with the success of Reels, which has seen an 80% increase in payouts this year.
