Now most probably you don’t know much about me, since this is my first blog. But you will get to know me more deeply as I write more here. Anyway, the thing I wanna tell you is that I always wanted to build a tech startup. Because I am from a financially weak background I am always on the constant survivor game. But I always think that one day I am gonna be a financially independent person. And I want to become a financially independent person by building a successful tech startup 😏
So as people started to follow me after responding to my comment, I was pretty surprised by this action. Because I would post nothing, my profile would look similar to a haunted house where no one lives and no activity is spotted. But the fact that people were still giving me a follow was quite a unique thing that I experienced on Twitter.
So an idea 💡 came into my head that is what if I post a comment on a tweet posted by a popular figure like Elon Musk as soon as it is posted? Since that tweet is going to get a lot of attention from the public my comment would also going to be read by many different people. So I would get free exposure by this. Not just exposure, multiple things can be achieved by this. For example:
- If I want to get people to visit my website and e-commerce store, I would include a link to my website or e-commerce store in the comment that I would leave under that tweet.
- If I want to gain more followers I can even do that by leaving comments that people would like. So they would end up giving me a follow.
So I was thinking of this idea as a clever and self-made method of marketing. Now, if you ZOOM OUT 🧐 and think about what happens when you market your product or service on social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook by paying dollars 💸 to these platforms, they show your product or service ads to hundreds and thousands of people depending on the amount of money you have paid to them. The more money 💸 you spend the more people see 👀 your ads. Hence the more numbers you hit. By numbers I mean those fancy analytics that these platforms show in their dashboards. They are saying look we have shown your ad to 100,000 people. But usually out of those 100,000 people, you only get successful in getting a few visits, customers, or anything (Depending on your goal 🎯).
So the core of my idea would be similar to this traditional marketing, as I put it this way:
It’s all about the number of eyes you can attract.
But the difference with my idea would be that it would cost no money but at the same time, it would take more time and effort because now one has to leave as many comments as possible on those new tweets from popular figures.
In this world:
You pay to play.
So in my case, I wanted to play without paying 😏, so I decided to play by paying my time and energy.
So I was very excited to share and test this idea because on Twitter I would see people struggling to find customers for their SaaS, mobile apps. One person had written this bio:
Making SaaS less pain in the ass.
Which I found pretty funny 🤣, I don’t remember that person’s name, if I did I would have mentioned his name here.
