The simple, 4 steps to create captivating content using ChatGPT. | by SixFigBytes | Mar, 2024

Without spending months practicing to improve.

If you want to improve your writing to enhance your personal brand on X, you’re in the right place!

You see, AI can do amazing things — it can generate pictures, voices, and even videos. However, when it comes to writing, even though it can do a great job, it’s just not there yet. But with a few smart tricks, AI can actually bring your content to the next level.

And this article is here to show you how to create captivating content using ChatGPT.

I’m sure you’ve already heard that if you try to write for everyone, you essentially end up writing for no one.

It’s crucial to know exactly who you’re talking to. Just look at the very first sentence of this article; it’s very clear who I’m addressing. Before you start writing, there are two questions you need to ask yourself:

  • Who do I write to?
  • What is the one thing that I want my reader to learn from this post?

In my case, I’m addressing someone who wants to improve their writing to grow their brand on X.

I want to show them that they can do it quickly without spending months practicing to improve, using ChatGPT. Whenever I have a topic in mind that I want to write about, I always ask myself these two questions first before moving on to step #2.

This is the point where many people make mistakes.

They rely on ChatGPT to write their content. I’ve tried it numerous times, even providing it with extensive data from successful writers, but it never quite delivered what I truly wanted. I came to the realization that nothing can replace that human touch. Therefore, I will write a draft — it doesn’t need to be perfect, just enough to capture your tone of voice that reflects ‘YOU’. There are two important points I will address when I write my draft:

  • HOOK — Makes the promise
  • POST — Deliver the promise

In my case, the “hook” or promise I make is ‘The simple, 4 steps to create captivating content using ChatGPT without spending months practicing to improve.’ Now, my obligation to you is to deliver on it.

Now it’s time to move on to step #3.

What we’ve done so far is figure out who we want to talk to and what one thing we want our readers to learn.

Then we identified a “hook” or promise, and we’ve written a draft for our post to deliver on our promise. Now it’s time to use our Artificial Inteligence friend ChatGPT, to help us make it truly captivating. This is exact prompt I used for my draft:

“Act as an expert ghostwriter. Grammar correct and polish this draft, please.”

I bet you were expecting some kind of very complicated prompt.

But remember, we’ve provided a draft and we want ChatGPT to build on it. This is exactly where ChatGPT excels — building on something we’ve provided. So, now we have an enhanced version of our draft, and we can move on to the final step #4.

The point is to make a few tweaks here and there so it sounds 100% like you.

I like to use Hemingway Editor to ensure it’s easy to consume, as ChatGPT has a tendency to overcomplicate things a little bit. I try to keep readability around grade 8, but be careful; you don’t want to make it sound overly simplistic.

See, even though I use this very article as an example of how you can use these 4 steps, the same applies to tweets, threads, essays, newsletters — you name it.

I truly believe these steps will help you create captivating content using ChatGPT. If you found any value, subscribe to my newsletter if you haven’t already and feel free to share this article with your network.

Thank you for reading, and have a fantastic day!
