CHANNEL UPDATE VIEWS

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.23.7 update, we announced a new feature in development: the ability to add more admins to channels. With this feature, channel owners get help from people they trust to bring additional content to the channel and making the channel more active and efficient. This ensures that channel content remains consistently updated. However, it appears that their commitment to enhancing the user experience within channels persists. Specifically, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.15 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on the ability to see how many times a channel update has been viewed!

As you can see in this screenshot, the number of views of a specific channel update will show up in the message bubble in a future update of the app. This feature will help the channel owner not only determining how many users viewed the update but also in making informed estimates about the number of people with notifications enabled for their channel who see their content. It’s important to note that this feature is not limited to channel owners as followers will also be able to see how many times a channel update was viewed.

In our opinion, implementing a feature that allows users to view how many times a channel update has been viewed can offer several advantages. In particular, this feature could enhance the user experience, provide valuable insights, and potentially benefit both individual users and organizations using WhatsApp Channels as a broadcast tool. Users can valuate the impact and reach of their messages, enabling them to identify which content resonates most with their audience. In addition, knowing that the number of views is being tracked might motivate users to create more engaging and informative content.

The feature that allows users to see the view count of channel updates is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. As always, we plan to publish a new article when we have further details regarding this feature to share with you.
